1500+ year old tree

Here a solitary Bristlecone Pine tree on Mt Bross. For whatever reason, this is one of the only areas these trees grow in Colorado. Bristlecone Pines are the oldest living trees. The one's on Mt Bross are 1500+ years old. Some in California are over 4000+ years old. Imagine that, trees that were alive when the Pharaoh's ruled.

Here's my favorite view. Here I am sitting on the peak above Lone Eagles peak, with some beautiful exposure dropping straight down for a couple hundred feet, and then gradually flatening down to Crater lake. Good thing I didn't slip!
Our campsite is actually in the upper right corner of the lake...not that you can see any of the 5 tents from this far up!
